Paul H. Jowell

Traffic Officer Paul Jowell succumbed to injuries sustained the previous night when his motorcycle and a car collided on Third Street.

The car he collided with attempted to turn left into a garage, causing the collision.

Officer Jowell was riding the same police motorcycle that Traffic Officer Ralph Rutherford was riding when he was killed in a motorcycle crash two months earlier.

Officer Jowell was survived by his parents. His father was a former sheriff of Deaf Smith County.
