John M. Bloxom

Corrections Officer John Bloxom succumbed to injuries sustained 12 days earlier when he fell from a watchtower on the prison wall at the New Mexico State Penitentiary in Santa Fe.

He was taken to a local hospital where he remained until succumbing to his injuries.

Officer Bloxom was survived by his wife and several siblings.

Officer Bloxom,
On today, the 75th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of New Mexico. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.
