Violence and the like was not going to derail nor deter your reasons for wanting to keep the peace of Dade County, Officer Cook. No man,no woman shall be afraid and denied the right to enjoy and cherish life. One moment of terror sparked by a man lacking the credentials of character, relevance and the respect that one with honesty,integrity and dignity affords humanity. Such basics and yet your pure and wise heart, soul and spirit are forever locked in those gates where humility and resolve peacefully patrol. Rest in peace my neighbor,friend and hero.

The years and all the tomorrows are no more for you, Officer Cook, just terribly sad and because of your heroics defending all Dade County making your family, peers and friends all humbly proud to know you. No after thoughts and surely no doubts on how you would make out as a policeman. So refined and so humbly honorable, Dade County and its citizens just prayed you would survive that day of tragedy. Your family was left with a gaping hole to fill and all these decades later, Officer Cook,your heroic memory stands as a valuable lesson for all men and women who protect to learn from. Unselfish, dignified and with sterling integrity that knew only right, you kept us safe and secure and now with heaven having your angelic spirit we are a bit less secure yet you are continuing to patrol those gates of boldness and bravery.
