Patrolman Guy Myers was killed in a motorcycle accident while responding to a traffic accident. A vehicle pulled out into an intersection and collided with the motorcycle. The driver of the other vehicle was charged with criminally negligent homicide.
Patrolman Myers had served with the El Paso Police Department for four and a half years. He was survived by his wife, son, and daughter.

View all 14 ReflectionsMy father, Carlos Prado Sr. was a motorcycle officer with Mr. Myers. I hurt my dad deeply when Mr. Myers was killed in that wreck. He came home to tell my mother, and he broke down crying in her arms!
I remember Mr. Myers well. He was a really nice young man! El Paso truly lost an awfully good officer and human being! I hope his children are all well. They were so little back then. I have not seen them since the cookout in October of that same year that Mr. Myers passed away at the Academy on Scenic Drive.
God rest his soul. I am sure he and my dad have spent lots of time together since my dad joined him in 2014. Dad always missed him!
