View all 24 ReflectionsIf you had lived, I know that the world would be a much better place, because I've seen the ripples of pain and grief that followed in the wake of your death, even decades later. Your absence from our family can still be felt.
I married your eldest son, and we missed you during our wedding reception. I wish I could have met you, if only to thank you from the bottom of my heart for raising such a wonderful son.
It is a comfort, though, to know that you're with Jesus. I look forward to meeting you in heaven, Dad. (Can I call you Dad? I guess I'll have to wait for that introduction. But I love you, regardless. I doubt you're reading these things in heaven, so I'll ask God to pass along the message.)
