William T. Mills

Captain William Mills, Patrolman Herman Jones, Patrolman William Gilham, and Sergeant Roy Brewer were all killed in a head-on automobile crash while en route to attend the funeral of Trooper Louis Bryant of the Arkansas State Police. Trooper Bryant had been shot and killed in the line of duty six days earlier.

Captain Mills was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and served with the DeQueen Police Department for 11 years. He was survived by his expectant wife.

Jonathan we e-mailed some while you were in college. When you went home we lost contact with each other. I had some pictures I was going to share with you. I went though AIT with your Dad. There was 8 of us in a class # 69-210. We were Crew Chiefs with orders for V.N. We rode the bus home and my plan was to get his contact info before Little Rock. He switched busses in Jackson and I never had contact again. We were to report in at Oakland Ca. on the same day. I looked for him then, no luck. In that short period of time we done a lot of things together. I will never forget !! Thanks for the memories William T. Mills RIP David Holt Batesville Ar.
