Thomas Dale Bond

Senior Corporal Tomas Bond was shot and killed while he and his partner were serving a burglary warrant at a home in the 2700 block of Canary Drive at 6:50 am.

The suspect was hiding inside a closet in his mother's house. When Corporal Bond opened the closet door, the suspect shot him in the face, killing him instantly. The suspect then shot and critically wounded his partner. His partner was able to crawl out of the house and call for backup.

The subject was arrested and sentenced to life.

Corporal Bond was a United States Navy veteran and had served with the Dallas Police Department for seven years. He was survived by his wife, son, daughter, and parents.
