Thomas Keefe

Police Officer Thomas Keefe succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained eight days earlier after arresting two burglary suspects.

As Officer Keefe was talking with the suspects, a uncle and his nephew, the uncle fired a pistol from inside his coat pocket. Both suspects were apprehended a short time later. The uncle was convicted of second degree murder on October 18, 1902. His nephew was acquitted.

Officer Keefe was survived by his wife and eight children.
