Officer John Jeffrey was killed in a motorcycle crash on Washington Boulevard, at Brickyard Hill, two miles south of Laurel.
It is believed that his motorcycle struck a rock in the roadway, causing him to lose control and crash into a culvert at approximately 11:00 am. A passing Marine found him in the culvert and rushed him to Casualty Hospital, in Washington, DC, where he succumbed to his injuries at 2:40 pm.
Officer Jeffrey had only been with the agency for two months. His assigned patrol area included Baltimore County and Howard County
