Autogyro Pilot Ned Henderson succumbed to injuries sustained in an autogyro crash two days earlier approximately one mile east of Sullivan City, Texas.

He was flying the autogyro to San Antonio when it developed an engine fire at about 1:00 pm. He attempted to make an emergency landing in a small field along Highway 83 but struck high-power electric lines and crashed. He suffered extensive burns and bone fractures as a result of the crash. He was transported to McAllen City Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Pilot Henderson was survived by his wife. He was buried in the Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen, Hidalgo County, Texas.
