View all 11 ReflectionsI last wrote about my husband's uncle,Colonel J.W.(Will)Hawkins and the years long search by Sgt.Jeremy Coe of the Lawton,Okla. PD to find his grave and that of 3 other officers killed in the line of duty. I couldn't find Sgt Coe's email address but wanted him to know Colonel Hawkins story has now been written up in the magazine Wild West by Australian author Peter Brand. Colonel Hawkins died April 12,1904. Sgt. Coe has had a stone placed at our uncle's tombstone and we are so appreciative of him and this wonderful author who learned of our uncle while he worked in Cripple Creek,Colorado and before he came to Lawton working under the famous Heck. Thomas.
