Patrolman Eugene Gurganus was shot and killed by a tramp while patrolling the railroad tracks in Maple Heights, Ohio.
The suspect, 26, was arrested, convicted of murder, and executed in Ohio's electric chair on December 4, 1936.
Patrolman Gurganus was a U.S. Army veteran and had served with the Pennsylvania Railroad Police Department for 11 years. He was survived by his wife.
