Patrolman Joseph Goulet succumbed to injuries sustained late the previous night when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Main Street at 11:00 p.m.
Patrolman Goulet was transported to Webber Hospital, where he succumbed to internal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was initially charged with manslaughter, but charges were dropped.
Patrolman Goulet had served with the Biddeford Police Department for 5 years. He was survived by his wife and eight children.
