Constable Warner Garner was shot and mortally wounded as he and another officer attempted to arrest a desperate character in Millville.
Constable Garner managed to return fire, killing the suspect. Constable Garner was rushed to Davis Hospital in Pine Bluff where he died the next day.
Constable Garner was survived by his wife and four small children.
