Patrolman Lawrence Gallagher was electrocuted in front of 3195 Boston Road when he attempted to rescue three people who were trapped in a car that was in direct contact with a live electrical wire.
One occupant of the vehicle was also killed.
Patrolman Gallagher was assigned to the 47th Precinct in the Bronx. His mother survived him.
