Daniel Furtado

Patrolman Daniel Furtado was killed in a motorcycle crash on Woodland Street in Boylston on his first day of patrol out of the academy and on the sixth day after being appointed.

He was returning to the barracks when his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree in the town of Holden.

Patrolman Furtado was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was survived by his parents.

Patrolman Furtado,
On today, the 75th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
