Hank Frost

Special Officer Hank Frost was shot and killed by a gambler who was seeking revenge against him for an incident that had occurred the previous month.

On November 11th, 1888, Officer Frost had arrested a gambler for disturbing the peace. As he escorted the man to jail, the man pulled out a knife and attempted to attack him. Officer Frost fatally shot the man.

On December 30th, 1888, Officer Frost was sitting in a saloon when a man entered and shot him with a revolver without warning. The man fled over the border into Mexico. On June 1, 1908, he was shot and killed in Guaymas, Northwest Mexico.

Officer Frost was a U.S. Army veteran.

My husband and I unexpectedly got a German Shepherd on Labor Day 2020. We heard he was in awful condition, so we went to the back yard breeder and brought him. 8 weeks old and only 5 pounds. He was dehydrated and malnourished. I cried the first night, for I did not think he would make it, but let me tell you this male pup we named Hank was a fighter and he has a heart of gold. The more I learn about the breed, the more I want to honor those who have put their lives on the line so myself and my loved ones can live a beautiful life. I went looking for a fallen hero and this is the first Hank I found, and therefore you are meant to be. Hank Frost, thank you for your service. My now handsome and strong 4 month old German Shepherd pup is named after you. 132 years you have been gone, but know your legacy still lives on. I am a firm believer that "gone but never forgotten" is a real thing in America. In a time where our heroes are under attack, I believe this is more important than ever and please know that my family and many other are here to protect your honor. All I can say is your memory still lives on and we are eternally grateful.
