Officer Davis died after suffering a heart attack while struggling with a suspect during an arrest attempt. Officer Davis had observed a former student on the property of the school after being forbidden to be there. He approached the suspect for the second time in that day and attempted to arrest him for trespassing.
The suspect, who was intoxicated, began to struggle with Officer Davis and put him in a headlock, which he held until Officer Davis collapsed. The suspect then began CPR on him until another student arrived and began CPR as well, at which time the suspect fled the scene. The suspect was never charged in his death because the family would not consent to an autopsy.

View all 14 ReflectionsIt is always sad to learn of a Brother Officer's death, but it so absolutely horrible to learn that the Officer died on the Holy Ground of a blessed Catholic college so familiar to some of us. This was a place that offered peace, contemplation and prayer for all and now we learn that it has not only been defiled but the life of a Police Officer has been forfeited. We can be confident that our Lord took his servant to be with Him in paradise. May God rest your soul, Officer, and grant unto you eternal life in the presence of our Lord. May our Lord grant peace to your family and may only the good memories remain.
