Add to My HeroesLyman Robert Eason
Patrolman Lyman Eason was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a robbery suspect at the bus station.
Patrolman Eason had responded to reports of the man carrying a large sum of money and acting strangely. The man had escaped from other deputies earlier after the deputies shot out the tires on his getaway car. Two other suspects were arrested by the deputies but the third fled to the bus station. During the arrest, patrolman Eason managed to get one handcuff on the suspect who then produced a handgun and shot him.
The shooter was sentenced to life and later died in prison.
