Game Protector Paul DuCuennois fell from his canoe and drowned while patrolling Jabes Pond in Washington County.
The pond can only be reached by a rough two-mile trail. Protector DuCuennois was paddling when he stood up and fell out of his canoe. Efforts were made to rescue him, but they only found his canoe and coat. His body was recovered on November 11, 1932.
Game Protector DuCuennois had served with the New York State Environmental Conservation Police for one year. He was survived by his mother and four brothers.
