View all 26 ReflectionsWe remember this terrible day like it was yesterday that Officer Doering tragically lost his life in the line of duty. We have profound respect and honor for all those who serve to protect the public. God has a special place in Heaven for Officer Doering and all that have made the ultimate sacrifice. Growing up in North Chicago my late father Capt John Rygiel also served on the NCPD for many years.
