Officer Dominick DiGuglielmo was killed in a motorcycle crash on Washington Avenue in Pleasantville around 4:30 p.m.

Officer DiGuglielmo was pursuing a speeder when a garbage truck struck him while navigating a sharp curve near the Chappaqua line. He was thrown off his motorcycle, suffering a skull fracture and internal injuries. Officer DiGuglielmo succumbed to injuries at Mount Kisco Hospital.

The driver was not cited.

Officer DiGuglielmo was a United States Navy Reserve WWII veteran and had served with the Pleasantville Police Department for over one year. He was survived by his wife, son, parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
