I was perusing some family photos this evening and came across one of Mark Groner and Dale Burd on graduation day from the MD State Police academy. Mark looks very spiffy in his uniform and both he and Dale have mile-wide smiles. That image is a jarring contrast to the pained looks among friends, family, and colleagues that I recall from his funeral. Mark, the hole that your passing left among everyone who knew you is still there. I miss your boundless enthusiasm and friendly smile.
