A 28-year-old man was arrested at his home and charged with their murders. The victim officers had charged him with driving with a revoked license two months earlier. The suspect was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to two life terms on March 25, 1974.

View all 14 ReflectionsThe information says the suspect was arrested the next day, actually it was 5 days later at his home. I was the Chester County Police Radio Dispatcher who discovered Bill and his partner Richard were missing at 2:15 am on November 15, 1972. Bill called to welcome me to my new job about 3 hours earlier. He and Richard were good men, firefighters, and helping troubled youth in their community. Sometimes reality is very painful. I will never forget these men and the goodness they brought to everyone they touched.
