Billy Walter Daugherty

Senior Corporal Billy Daugherty died four days after suffering severe head injuries when his motorcycle crashed on Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway near Skillman Street.

Senior Corporal Daughtery was attempting to pull over a speeding motorist when he hit a rise in the asphalt, flipping his motorcycle and skidding almost 200 feet. He was transferred to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to severe head injuries on August 14, 1992.

He had served with the Dallas Police Department for 21 years. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
