Patrolman Kenneth Cozier suffered a fatal heart attack during a stressful situation while on duty.
Patrolman Cozier was a United States Navy WWII and Korean War veteran and served with the New York City Police Department for 11 years, assigned to the Emergency Services Unit. He was survived by his wife and four children.
He is buried at the Long Island National Cemetery in East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York.
