Officer Robert Corter was killed in an automobile crash while pursuing a person wanted on a warrant at 8:40 a.m.
His vehicle struck a wall separating the Pali Tunnels on Pali Highway after skidding on the rain-slick road. He was transported to Queen's Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries an hour later.
Officer Corter was a United States Air Force veteran and had served with the Honolulu Police Department for four years. He was survived by his wife, daughter, father, mother, stepfather, and two stepsisters.
