John T. Clancy, Jr.

Police Officer John Clancy succumbed to injuries sustained four days earlier when his police motorcycle collided with a drunk driver on Aurora Avenue near Galer Street.

The driver of the other vehicle was charged with drunken and reckless driving.

Officer Clancy was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII and had served with the Seattle Police Department for three years. He was survived by his wife and son.

On today, the 75th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the USMC during World War II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
