I love you, Grandpa Fred. We finally visited you at the Memorial Wall yesterday. My sisters and I wanted to leave a pint of ice cream for you, but dad wouldn't let us. But that's okay. I'm sure you're eating lots of ice cream up there in Heaven. You deserve it for the sacrifice you made. I'm sorry I never got to meet you in this life. I think about you every day. Dad talks about you a lot. Always good things. So I know you were a good person. I just wish I didn't have to wait until Heaven to finally meet you. Wait for me at the gates, okay? I'll be the one to run up and give you the biggest hug.
