Patrolman Edward Carragher succumbed to injuries sustained when he was struck by a bus on 9th Avenue, between 34th and 35th Streets in the 14th Precinct.

Patrolman Carragher had served with the New York City Police Department for 26 years. He was survived by his wife and six children.
