Police Officer Carlos Taylor succumbed to complications of injuries sustained in a vehicle crash on February 17th, 2017, at the intersection of Spring Valley Road and Woodley Road.
He was responding to a needs assistance call of officers pursuing two men with a gun. He was traveling south on Woodley Road in an unmarked patrol car when he attempted to avoid hitting another vehicle. His patrol car crossed into another lane and collided with another vehicle.
He suffered a traumatic injury to his brain stem that resulted in him being a quadriplegic and unable to verbally communicate. He remained under constant care until succumbing to his injuries on June 30th, 2023.
Officer Taylor had served with the Montgomery Police Department for two years.
