Patrolman Thomas Dynan succumbed to injuries sustained on December 31st, 1911, when he was struck by a streetcar near the intersection of Main Street and First Street in Kendell Square.

He had just finished handling a call for service at Engine 7 and was crossing the street when the streetcar's fender struck him and knocked him down. He suffered a fractured skull when he hit his head on the pavement.

Patrolman Dynan had served with the Cambridge Police Department for 30 years. He was survived by his wife and son.
