Ma’am, I feel your pain, and I couldn’t stay silent. I needed to reach out and share my support with you and your children. Today, while browsing, I came across the story of another fallen Angel of Protection in uniform. If my words can bring even a small measure of comfort, I pray that God uses them to do so.

I did not lose anyone personally, but your words brought your pain so close to my heart. I can only imagine another family crying out for answers over their young son, wounded and lost in the line of duty—another unnecessary loss, like yours. I believe God is speaking through this moment to tell you: “They are all Angels to Me too.”

God’s Word says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9), and “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13). Your loved one lived that verse. Their service and sacrifice are not forgotten in Heaven.

I also want to ask forgiveness, on behalf of all of us, for how often we as a community take our freedom for granted. Scripture reminds us that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). I pray that promise wraps around you and your family right now.

May their faithful duty and final sacrifice awaken all of us to deeper appreciation, honor, and recognition for them and for the families who carry this pain—like yours. It is truly an honor that your words stopped me in my tracks, made me reflect, and moved me to pray for your loss. May God’s comfort, which “surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7), guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus
