Deputy Sheriff David Wade was shot and killed at approximately 8:30 am as he attempted to serve an eviction notice at a residence near the intersection of CR 66 and Midwest Boulevard, outside of Mulhall, Oklahoma.

He encountered three subjects at the residence and began checking their identifications. One of the subjects opened fire on Deputy Wade, striking him multiple times. The man then stole Deputy Wade's patrol truck and fled the scene. He then abandoned the vehicle and carjacked a citizen in a nearby town. The subject was taken into custody several hours later.

Deputy Wade was able to radio for backup after he was shot. He was flown to a hospital in Oklahoma City where he passed away several hours later while in surgery.

Deputy Wade, i'm sorry for what happened to you that morning 8 years ago, as your killing was uncalled for and it was unwarranted. That man had no reason to kill you, other than the fact he was possessed by evil, and his mind was scrambled at the time of your death, and considering the suspect had a violent history along with having a history of drugs, it was no wonder that he was overall crazy and sick in the head. However, on the bright side of things, he was eventually caught and sentenced to life without parole, meaning that he won't bother anybody else anymore since he was a nuisance to society and should've been thrown away a long time ago. But honestly, i believe that he should've gotten the death penalty a whole lot sooner, since it would've been easier to put him in the ground and get it over with. From what i learned about this case is that in the process of the eviction, it was most likely he wasn't the one getting evicted since he didn't live there, meaning he could've just went on with his day and left with who was staying there at the time. I think that had he not did what he did that morning, he could've just went on somewhere, but as for why he took your life is something i'm not sure will be answered. Other than that, he's sealed away from society as he should be, and you've been avenged in death. But other than that, i would like to focus on the positive side of things. For one, you not only served your people of Logan County and the state of Oklahoma, you also served your country as an Army Veteran, which takes alot of strength and courage to do. To not only become a soldier and defend your country while also becoming a police officer, but also serving with dedication and passion is something that not alot of people can do, and you had it in you to serve your country and become a sheepdog to those in need and put other's safety over yours, and if that doesn't describe your bravery and strength, i don't know what will. Although your career was short at only 3 years, i believe you did alot in those 3 years as you were able to help change and form how Logan County is now, as you were able to make more than just a difference, and you were able to help alot of people in that short amount of time, which says alot. Also, i'd like to think that your kids have gotten old enough or are already old enough to learn about your legacy as it was unfortunately left behind, as your service as a soldier is something that deserves recognition, and your service will always be recognized for as long as time goes on. I believe that as long as your name is said and you're remembered for your service and your act of selflessnes, you aren't truly dead as you live on in the minds and hearts of others, along with the fact that people will learn more about your story and who you were as a man, as long as your memory is kept alive. Although there is alot of things i could say about the coward that took away your life, i'd like to say that one day Karma will reach him, and he will pay the price for what he did, as Karma always reaches those who do wrong in terms of harming and killing a police officer, as there is a penalty for such vile actions. I believe that Karma will reach him, as he will pay the price for what he did, as judgement day is waiting for him around the corner as each year goes on of him crumpling in his cell under the prison. I'd like to think that as of now, you're your children and wife's guardian angel, protecting them from any and all evil as no evil will touch your family with you as the guardian angel protecting your family, the same exact way you protected your citizens in Oklahoma, and everyone in your county, as i'm sure they all remember you and your service, and will tell stories of your service and the things you did for your people, along with your friends you met in the army as they too will tell stories of the things you did in the army and how you served your country with ease, and were one of the brave men to stand up and fight against evil and come out strong. But as of now, may you rest in peace knowing that your service is appreciated, and that your service as a soldier and officer is forever appreciated, and that your light will never fade nor go out as you're still talked about and thought of, as you will continue to live on in the minds and hearts of others. Although i never knew you or personally met you, i'd like to believe you were a gentleman and a kind person overall, as you left a long-lasting impact on your community, and only those who knew you can describe what type of man you were, but i think you were more than just a man with a good heart as you really did care for others, which explains why you believed that being a soldier wasn't enough, and you chose to become an officer to continue your service and dedication, which i personally salute you for. Rest Well Mr. Wade
