Sheriff Fay Little succumbed to injuries sustained three days earlier when he was struck by an automobile.
Sheriff Little was standing with a group of people at the scene of a fatal shooting of a suspect when the vehicle came around a bend in the road. The car could not stop and struck the group of people, causing fatal wounds to Sheriff Little.
Sheriff Little was survived by his wife.
