Many years ago, I worked at Blockbuster Video on Lemmon Ave as an Assistant Manager. On weekends, we would have a uniformed DPD officer visible in the store to prevent theft. I'm not 100% certain, but I want to think it was this officer. Seems like his name was Steve Smith, and that he worked out of the substation off NW Highway. I'm not sure what made him cross my mind....but I searched on Google only to sadly learn he was killed in the line of duty. I just remember him being one of the nicest people I have ever met....so much so that he stuck in my mind some 30 years later. Thank you so much for your service, and may God rest your soul.
