Deputy Coroner William Belcher was struck and killed by a vehicle as he conducted an investigation at the scene of a fatal crash on Highway 51 near County Road 100N.
Deputy Coroner Belcher was a United States Army Korean War veteran and had served with the McLean County Coroner's Office for one year. He was survived by his wife and six children.
