I’m 25 now. I’m about to graduate from The University of Alabama (you would’ve hated that) but been so proud anyway. I feel like everyone has moved on, but I died that day too. I went and spoke to you last night. The grief I feel is just as strong as it was that night. Even if everyone forgets, as long as I’m alive I won’t. People who love me know you, they know the stories and how much losing you changed every facet of my life. Will this grief ever go away? I’m gonna walk across that stage in August and you need to know that everything good I’ve ever done has been for you. I miss being someone’s daughter. I like to think that you live through Cameron and I. I’d like to think there is a universe where you got to grow old and got to be loved for longer than you were.
