Most Recent Reflection
View all 11 Reflections8 kids were orphaned the day Sheriff Hogue was killed, the consequences of that murder had long lasting impact on many people. He had a good insurance policy and thankfully the 6 youngest kids were sent to a wonderful orphanage (I believe in the Tiffon, Ohio area). It was a farm-like atmosphere with hundreds of kids and provided them with as good a childhood experience one could ask for under the circumstances. His oldest son went on to serve gallantly in WWII as a crewman on a bomber with missions in Europe. His plane was shot down twice and he bailed out both times over France. The first time he rode a bicycle to freedom, the second time he was captured and was held as a POW for nearly two years by the Germans. His children all went on to live happy and productive lives, many in the Detroit area where the went for good jobs in the auto industry. He has many great and great-great grandchildren and would be very proud!
