Hey Rahamy, Your childhood neighbor when you were at your grandma's. It's 2025 and me and my sister were talking about you. I know you are in a beautiful place and I hope one day I will see the promise land.
It's hard to believe that you have been gone now 18 years. You were a good son, grandson, brother, uncle and dad. I think about when we were kids and we all went exploring all up here on this hill. One day I remember was when we came across that man in the woods and I could only describe back then as a real live Indian. With his moccasin boots, bow and arrow, and that knife in his boot. I remember me and you being so excited and fearless, but my sister and cousin ran home scared half to death. We asked that poor guy so many questions he was probably glad when we decided to stop. As I think about it today, it's no wonder you became a officer. You were ahead of your calling the way you interrogated that Indian. I know I was just excited that we found a real live Indian and was taken aback just by that fact, but not you. You asked that man his name, how long has he been out there, what was he hunting, had he been successful in that hunt. I'm surprised we didn't ask him to play cowboys and Indians with us, but that would have only meant we both would have had to be the cowboy and cowgirl. And we both wanted to shoot his bow. He was a nice guy thankfully. You were always the watcher. You were the oldest out of us kids, but with me and my sister being girls you kept a eye out for us even back then. I remember you also throwing that brick at the mean boys when they thought they were going to bully us. You put the fear in those boys and you showed them if they wanted to be mean, that you would meet them on their level, and you called their bluff. I've got a million memories like that.
I know you gave your life doing something that had been important to you your whole life. The very thing I had seen from you on more than one occasion as neighbor friends and growing up out here in the sticks. Your heart was as huge as your personality and the patience of a giant. You stayed the same and kept right, from wrong. I'm so glad that I had the honor of knowing you.
My prayers are with your family and loved ones. As I am sure you are keeping a watchful eye over them.
My condolences to Keefer, Jamie, his dad and significant other, nephew's and niece's. And to his brothers and sisters who he worked with. May you all stay safe and keep right from wrong.
RIP My friend.
