Add to My HeroesOllie Park
Deputy Constable Ollie Park was shot and killed while working at a dance in Breckenridge, Texas.
While on duty at the dance, he observed a man drop a pistol. A struggle ensued when he approached the man and attempted to arrest him. During the struggle another man approached the two and opened fire on Deputy Constable Park, striking him four times.
On April 7, 1932, the suspect, 22, was convicted of murder and sentenced to life. On January 16, 1934, when Bonnie and Clyde liberated their confederate Raymond Hamilton from the Eastham State Prison Farm, the suspect jumped in the car with them. Clyde, who did not like him, quickly got rid of him, though his fame as a member of the gang was established. He was captured two weeks later in Amarillo. On June 22, 1937, he escaped from the prison farm again. On July 20, 1937, he was shot and killed by a state trooper in Monticello, Arkansas.
