I was thinking of you tonight. I can never forget that night. I was last to the ramp at Charity. It still took the ambulance almost 3-4 minutes to get to the ramp after that Code 5. Waiting for the medics to open the doors and take you into the ER was an eternity which equaled maybe 2-3 minutes. I’d seen too much death so I knew you were down permanently. Damn security wouldn’t even let us go in. I saw your face when they finally took you out and I immediately knew 10-7. I walked maybe 2 feet until my legs gave out. Until this day I can’t stop the tears on that anniversary. I remember your little girl also. She’s a grown woman now and I’m sure she learned to cope somehow. You were electricity. That smile and your charm was golden. Rest well my friend. I’m sorry I couldn’t get there fast enough. Smile on us from heaven because we really need that electricity in these times. “Brooklyn!!!!!”
