View all 157 ReflectionsWell yesterday would have been your 59th birthday, i sent a balloon to you like i have done for many years hoping you receive it.
It was brought to my attention today that this website exists and I had no idea, so I sat and read all the messages and got to see all the people who still love and miss you and read about all of those who you impacted with your kindness and laughter and those that loved you so very much.
You’ve been gone for almost 21 years and it’s crazy how fast life went by but your presence was never missed.
I now work for the Sheriffs office just like you and I hope you're so very proud, many of the folks i work with don’t know you as well because they are younger and newer but ever so often ill find one that recognizes my name because of you . My coworker calls me dubs which i didn’t know that you used to be called j-dub til i told mom that was my nickname, so now it just means so much more.
I’m in the middle of planning my wedding and it’s not been a great time honestly, every moment makes me think of how you won’t be there, there are so many moment in my life where i know you wish you could be there and i wished more than anything you could as well, but this my wedding day is a day i’ve been putting off for so long in hope it might be easier. I watched becca and leysa get married and even though it was a great day there was still sadness that lingered. I know it’s not your fault but i can’t wait for the wedding to be over so I don’t have to plan or think about it anymore.
I am always finding myself looking through old photos and watching old videos because that is all i have to make me feel closer to you.
You are missed everyday and I just wish we could hear your voice and laugh one more time.
I have wonderful people in my life that help keep your memory alive and help all of us feel supported and loved and that’s thank to you for being a wonderful man and creating wonderful friendships that love your girls.
Uncle Victor is always there at our birthdays, wedding and anytime we want to celebrate you.
Don and Amy and Yolanda and Randy have been at becca’s and leysa’s weddings.
Me and carol nana are pen pals and send letters to each other we’ve been doing that since i was in high school, and now the auntie carol jean lives up with her we also have started writing.
Kristine lives in Reno with us and is always there, which we all love having her close.
Jenn and Randy have been there for all of us, not that they knew you very well, but they have taken us as family and have been there and supported all of us.
The world would be a better place with you in it and I know my world would be better with you but that just makes me so very grateful that you were my dad and i wouldn’t have wanted it any other way, i hope you know how much you are missed and thought about. I hope you’re having a good time in heaven with papa marty and papa, looking down on all of us proud because that’s all i want in my life is to make you proud.
I love you forever and i miss you always❤️
love your daughter
