William Edward Bayless, III

Cadet Bayless suffered a fatal heart attack during required boxing training at Basic Patrol School in Raleigh. He was transported to Wake Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Cadet Bayless was a U.S Army veteran and had served with the North Carolina Highway Patrol for 6 months. His academy class was scheduled to graduate the following week. He was survived by his son and parents. His father was a retired member of the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

On today, the 37th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
