View all 7 ReflectionsDeputy Burns, today marks the 79 anniversary since you made your sacrifice. I have read all of the other reflections, and don't know what to really say. I guess to start, I am your Great-Grandson. I wish I could have met you, but that was not in the cards. I cannot tell or express how proud of you I am. You made the ultimate sacrifice, and you are a hero to all of the citizens you served. I hope it brings your soul comfort that you are not the only one in our family to be holding the line. I have stepped up on a state level, and now I have stepped up on the federal level. I only hope that I make you and our family proud.
You are never forgotten, and will always be a Hero.
Love and Respect,
Your Great-Grandson
