Charles T. Randall

Wildlife Officer Charles Randall and Wildlife Officer Roy Burnsed were killed in an automobile crash when their SUV patrol vehicles collided head-on on the L-5 levee near the Holey Land Wildlife Management Area in Palm Beach County.

The officers were driving in opposite directions at approximately 9:30 p.m. on the 17-foot wide dirt road, which crossed the levee in a remote area with little light. Both officers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Officer Randall succumbed to his injuries two days after the accident.

He had served with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for three years. He is survived by his parents.

In January 2004, an offshore patrol boat, the C.T. Randall, was named in Officer Randall's honor.

During their Memorial Workout FWC Class 46 reached its goal honoring the legacy of fallen Officer Charles T. Randall, who was killed in the line of duty October 28,2001. We were joined by several Command Staff who gave an extra push to finish strong. FWC has made these Memorial Workouts a tradition for the past 9 years and continues to actively honor those officers who paved the way and made the ultimate sacrifice.
