Patrolman Rodney Kendricks succumbed to injuries received in a motorcycle accident one week earlier.

He was escorting a funeral procession and was attempting to move ahead of the vehicles in order to block traffic when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck.

Patrolman Kendricks had been employed with the Lubbock Police Department for 12 years, and is survived by his two daughters, parents, sister, brother, and grandparents.

Father God, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-In-Blue, Patrolman Rodney Raylyn Kendricks, of the Lubbock TX Police Department, was suddenly and violently taken from us from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and comrades by the power and protection of the Cross. I ask this through the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by His Authority, I pray. Amen.
