Sergeant Robert Guilliams was killed in a vehicle collision while he was responding to another vehicle crash call on I-55 in Pemiscot County at 4:20 a.m.

He was traveling southbound when his cruiser hydroplaned on the wet roadway and struck a bridge abutment.

Sergeant Guilliams was a U.S Air Force veteran and had served with the Missouri State Highway Patrol for 17 years. He was survived by his wife and two young children.

I knew Rob in another life. We served at Blytheville AFB together in the 80s. I was watching a cop show on tv and thought of him. I’m so sorry to see he has passed.
