Officer Bradley Arn was shot and killed as he responded to a call of a man walking down the street firing an assault rifle.
Officer Arn was the first officer on the scene and was shot once in the head in the 2200 block of Colhoun Street before exiting his patrol car. The subject continued walking down the street, shooting randomly, until he was cornered by other responding officers and fatally shot. The subject, dressed in camouflage and firing an automatic rifle, had an additional shotgun and bullets strapped to his body.
Officer Bradley Arn was a Gulf War veteran and had served with the St. Joseph Police Department for six years. He was survived by his wife and 2-year-old twin daughters.
