Police Officer Ricardo Torres was killed in an automobile crash on Cedar Grove Road while en route to a call involving an armed subject at approximately 5:30 am.
He was thrown from the vehicle when it left the roadway and struck a fixed object.
Officer Torres had served with the DeKalb County Police Department for one year. He is survived by his wife, two sisters, and mother.
